A glimpse at the possibilities of generative design to explore its potential for a creative approach beyond traditional discipline boundaries, encompassing a bandwidth reaching from sculpture to product design to architecture - see also my article "Looking in, looking out, and looking at - Tracing Out A New Taxonomy of The Design Process". Generative design also evokes similarities to a wide gamut of design styles ranging from biological design to 19th century glass palaces to Chinese, Japanese and Islamic art.

The series below was designed by altering a single parameter in a generative setup, resulting in a row of sculptures starting with a pillar. The structure was rolled up like a sleeve, becoming a fountain-like structure, then coiled in again to become a basket and finally a mushroom-like object.
